about FIA

The FIA (Fitness Industry Association) is the industry body which represents Britain’s health clubs and leisure centres. Helping every man, woman and child in the UK to be more active is what we are all about.

We work very closely with the Government, as well as other organisations which are commited to getting and keeping the nation healthy.

Whether its working with schools or businesses, children or adults our goal is to help everyone understand the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and FIA health clubs and leisure centres are staffed by experts who know how to help people get healthy.

Children should do at least 60 minutes of activity a day to help them stay happy and healthy, and adults should exercise at least 30 minutes, five times a week. MoreActive4Life, the fitness industry's contribution to the Government's Change4Life campaign, is a great way to get your active minutes! Developed by the FIA, this national consumer activity campaign will be delivered by almost 1,000 FIA members nationwide. The summer campaign, which is designed to help more people be more active more often, will include walking groups as well as gym-based activities.

MoreActive4Life will bring the fun back into being active, provide access to trained exercise professionals and offer a quick and easy way for many people to take their first steps to eating well, moving more and living longer.

It is all part of The FIA’s mission: to get more people | more active | more often.

The Fitness Industry Association supports Change4Life. To maintain a healthy lifestyle we need to eat well and move more. So why not join the many families who are already making changes designed to help them live healthier and longer lives: for more information on Change4Life visit www.nhs.uk/Change4Life or call 0300 123 4567.
